AGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
Exciting news from the front lines of the war against cognitive disease: a naturally occurring protein in our bodies known as Klotho, considered an anti-aging longevity factor, has been found to show significant potential in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. When used as a supplement, the multi-functional protein is gaining attention for its role in addressing age-related disease and, no surprise—regular exercise has been shown to increase its production naturally.
The science is deep and nerdy- for an overview in semi-layman’s terms, extra snaps to the sassy Canadians who published this piece, looks like fun with puns has crossed the border, eh?
COINCIDENTAL FLOSS
Special shoutout to Samantha Coxe, visionary founder behind Flaus, the first of its kind electric flosser. Yes, you read that right. Somehow, Sonicare, Oral B and other key players in Big Dental (Big Teeth?) have snoozed on this innovation for decades, and it just took one tireless solopreneur to shake up the category. I had the joy of chatting with her for my podcast, which happened to air the same week she made headlines scoring a deal on the season finale of Shark Tank. If flossing is pretty much the uncoolest, unsexiest thing you can think of, I’m here to tell you that Sam will change your mind. (Publisher’s note: she has unquestionably earned her spot in the Well on Heels Hall of Fame, I just couldn’t resist a zippy pun for the headline.)

HERE’S A TIP, MAKE THE CHANGE
Every once in a while it’s important to go back to square one and see how you’re doing. Some of you are new readers since the first issue was published last August; welcome and thanks for getting on the bus. Others of you have been loyal since day one, and you get extra hugs with jazz hands for that 🤗 But if we’re being honest, how many of you are still practicing all 30-plus tips that you’ve learned so far? How many of you are practicing more than one? (cue crickets)
It’s not your fault—we learn best by repetition. So, to refresh: just two to five minutes of walking after a meal can help prevent insulin spikes and lower blood sugar. A post-meal walk can literally improve your health. The sun is out, there’s no excuse. There’s an ice cream stand a three minute walk from my kitchen- that’s called a zero-summer game.
Be well, put some dedication and devotion in your step, and paid subscribers read on for perks and deals!
